January 2011

Dear All,

Price Increase from the 1st January 2011
We are unfortunately going to have to make a small increase to our prices, this is the first increase in 3 years and is due to our spiralling overheads, particularly the cost of haylage, straw and insurance. Please see a copy of our revised tariff

Horse and Pony Knowledge and Care
There will be Horse Knowledge and Care training every Saturday evenings 5-7pm (from Saturday 25th September) – this session will be for all ages and abilities and will allow you to work towards your next British Horse Society Progressive Test or Pony Club Efficiency Certificate. The cost will be £7.50 for the two hour session. There is no need to pre book just turn up! Please bring your normal riding gear including hat, body protector, riding boots and gloves.

Working Liveries
We occasionally have ponies looking for riders to love, ride and look after them when they are not being used in the Riding School. This can bring all the benefits of having your own pony without the unforeseen costs and responsibilities. If you are interested in having one of the ponies on Working Livery please let me know as soon as possible. The cost of this is £25 per week. Half sharers £15 per week. Ponies currently available for full share: Dark Boy, Bebop and Tin-Tin. Half share: Pepsi and Mistletoe

Cancellation/Non attendance policy;
Please note for whatever reason 24 hours notice is required to cancel weekday bookings and 48 hours notice for cancelling weekend rides otherwise the full fee is payable. Regrettably there is no exception for illness.

We are pleased to be offering a free service to our working livery customers. If you let us know when you will be coming to see or ride your pony we will be pleased to get him or her in for you and leave the pony in a stable with hay and water until you arrive. Please try to let us know the day before. It will be greatly appreciated it you can turn the pony out after your visit and leave the stable clean and tidy.

Please check the fit of your child’s hat and body protector to ensure that they are providing adequate protection. We recommend that hats should be routinely replaced every two years or earlier in the event of sustaining an impact (if dropped or if your child falls off) as the level of protection afforded by the helmet may be reduced. If in doubt please ask Jill, Marion, or Gwenda.

Please, Please, Please bring your lesson money in an envelope with your name on it as this speeds up the changeover time between lessons. It is helpful if you write dates of future absences on the envelope (e.g. holidays etc.). Please make cheques payable to Jill Martin-Pope.

We have a strict NO SMOKING policy
We do not allow dogs, badly behaved children or umbrellas into the yard.
The chickens are much-loved pets, so please be kind to them.
